With Real Madrid in the running for his signature and Liverpool also linked with a move for the star, all eyes are on Mbappe’s situation.

As noted by Fox Sports, Mbappe has not yet made any decisions with regard to his future, giving PSG hope that he will remain at the side.

The club are trying to get him to sign a new deal, but if they fail to do that before July 1, 2024, the Ligue 1 champions will lose out on making money from his sale.

Mbappe is currently valued at €180 million, according to Transfermarkt.

The massive amount Mbappe could lose

While PSG runs the risk of losing millions if the Frenchman leaves on a free transfer, the player himself could lose out on a lot of money.

The French side have a loyalty bonus in place with the player, which he will lose out on if he leaves on a free transfer.

Transfer window: Mbappe's future to take centre stage

Sports Brief also reported that the future of Kylian Mbappe and his protracted courtship with Real Madrid is expected to be the key theme of the transfer window that opens in Europe on Monday.

However, much attention will once more turn to PSG's lethal finisher. A year ago, he scored a hat-trick for France in the World Cup final but ended up on the losing side.

Real Madrid remains the primary contender for the 25-year-old, whose contract with PSG ends in June. Will the 14-time European champions finally secure a commitment from the player they've been chasing for years?
