Renowned former Kaizer Chiefs footballer, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, has successfully attained his CAF A Licence Coaching diploma.

Currently coaching DStv Diski Challenge side AmaZulu, has stressed the significance of education in football.

The 41-year-old shared the arduous three-year journey it took to achieve this coaching milestone.

Undeterred by the challenges, Letsholonyane expressed his excitement and hopes to inspire others to follow suit.

“And the year started with a BANG! 3 years straight of self-empowerment, acquiring knowledge, traveling, sleepless nights and ..SHEW,” Letsholonyane shared on his Twitter handle.

The former Bafana Bafana midfielder is passionate about showcasing the importance of seizing educational opportunities, asserting that education plays a crucial role in shaping a promising future.

Letsholonyane completed his CAF Licence in South Africa in 2021, continued his studies with a CAF C Licence in Zambia in 2022, and culminated his coaching education with the CAF A Licence in Botswana in 2023.

“Being accepted in Botswana was a moment of joy for me. The coaching course taught me to understand the rationale behind my actions as a coach, covering aspects such as behaviour, work ethic, and attitude,” he told The Daily Sun.

As a retired-footballer-turned-coach, Letsholonyane underlines the perpetual nature of learning, stressing that for soccer stars to enhance their skills, continuous learning is essential.

He encourages fellow athletes to recognize that education is an ongoing process and that opportunities for improvement persist beyond the field.

Letsholonyane passionately urged the youth to embrace educational opportunities, emphasizing that qualifications acquired through formal education contribute to personal growth and development.

Letsholonyane hopes to coach Kaizer Chiefs

In 2021, Sports Brief reported on Letsholonyane's retirement from professional football.

The midfielder opened up about life after playing and his thoughts on football in South Africa.

He had a decorated career that spanned more than 15 years. He played in the 2010 FIFA World Cup and boasts many successful stints with several PSL clubs.
