A recent survey by a credible source has listed the highest earners in the African football leagues, with Bafana Bafana international Percy Tau making the list.
Egyptian side Al Ahly dominates the list with the most players, while the likes of Kaizer Chiefs, Pyramids FC, and Zamalek also have representatives on the list.
Players from the Nigeria Premier Football League missed out on the top earners list, while Nigerian football stars in other African leagues are also absent.
According to a report by BSN Sports, Tunisian international Ali Maaloul tops the list of earners, and he is being followed by Al Ahly teammate and former Borussia Dortmund striker Anthony Modeste.
Tau is not the only South African player on the list, as the AmaKhosi midfielder Keagan Dolly also represents the Bafana Bafana.
Dolly is the only Premier Soccer League player on the top earners list with a $1.189 million annual salary.
