FootballArsenal Told to ‘Shut Up And Stop Moaning’ After Lodging Complaint Over Bukayo Saka’s Safety
- Arsenal have been told to ‘stop moaning’ after the club submitted a complaint to PGMOL
- The Gunners are concerned about Buyako Saka’s rough treatment in the Premier League
- The winger was the third most fouled player in the English Premier League during 2023
Arsenal have been brutally told to ‘shut up and stop moaning’ after the club launched a complaint to the refereeing body, PGMOL about the treatment of Bukayo Saka.
The year 2023 ended with the winger the most fouled player in the league - 87 times. Only Jordan Ayew (117) and Newcastle’s Bruno Guimaraes (92) were fouled more.
The Gunners have now raised concern over their opponents’ apparent freedom to tackle Saka maliciously without suffering punishment.
According to GOAL.com, Arsenal brought up the issue as part of a broader conversation with the league’s refereeing body. The club wants any player to be issued a yellow card for the first strong challenge on 22-year-old.
Saka has carried an Achilles tendon issue since last season, with his latest setback happening on October 3 during a game against French side, RC Lens. He was out for a few weeks due to the stubborn injury.
Arsenal told to 'stop moaning' about Saka
Despite genuine concerns from the Gunners’ camp, one former Premier League player does not believe they are valid.
Former Aston Villa man, Gabby Agbonlahor was thoroughly critical of Arsenal for lodging the complaint and believes Mikel Arteta’s side should ‘stop moaning’.
"Shut up, stop moaning. It's all you hear off Arteta and Arsenal - get on with it, it's football," Gabby said per TalkSport.
According to the former winger, Arsenal should take it as a compliment that Saka is being fouled so much since the best players - like Diego Maradona and Lionel Messi - are often subjected to rough treatment from opponents.

Football"Back in your day, you used to get fouled every time you got the ball. Look at the clips of Maradona, he used to get two-footed in the chest! Two-footed in the chest, no yellow card, play on. Messi - kicked, kicked, kicked - he just gets up, takes a quick free kick and gets on with it."
This is not the first time this season that Arsenal have been incensed about proceedings in the Premier League.
Earlier this season, coach Mikel Arteta went on a rant after his side’s defeat to Newcastle United, earning himself an FA charge as a result.
Why Arsenal will wear white vs Liverpool
The Gunners' next game is an FA Cup clash against Liverpool. As Sports Brief has previously reported, Arsenal will wear white for that game for a noble reason.
In departing from their white strip from the last two seasons, the move is part of the 'No More Red' campaign to raise awareness about knife violence and crime.
