- Peter Shalulile and Deon Hotto are expected to lead the attack for the Brave Warriors
- Namibia have been drawn in AFCON Group E alongside Mali, South Africa, and Tunisia
At least nine players plying their trade in South Africa will feature for Namibia at the forthcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
Collin Benjamin has trimmed his squad for this month's tournament, cutting it down to 23 from the 28 who have been preparing in Ghana.
Namibia have been drawn into the dangerous Group E alongside Mali, South Africa, and Tunisia.
Among the nine players plying their trade in South Africa are Peter Shalulile (Mamelodi Sundowns), Deon Hotto (Orlando Pirates), Lloydt Kazapua (Chippa United), Riaan Hanamub (AmaZulu) and Lubeni Haukongo (Cape Town Spurs), who are all featuring for clubs in the DStv Premiership, iDiski Times reports.
The other four stars are Edward Maova (University of Pretoria), Ananias Gebhardt (Baroka), Bethuel Muzeu (Black Leopards), and Joslin Kamatuka (Maritzburg United), who feature in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
Namibia will meet South Africa on January 21 in a game which is expected to be an all-PSL affair.

Hugo Broos defends team selection
Sports Brief previously reported that when it comes to football, seldom is a team announced for a major tournament without complaints about those included and excluded.
The central talking point around South Africa's AFCON 2023 team is the perceived lack of a goal-scoring threat and those tasked with bagging the goals for Bafana Bafana.
First-choice forwards, Lyle Foster and Lebo Mothiba will not be going to Ivory Coast. Foster has been omitted for personal reasons, and Mothiba broke a bone in his knee.
