  • Kylian Mbappe remains tight-lipped on his future as his PSG deal enters its final six months
  • Mbappe announced last year that he would not extend his contract with the French champions
  • Meanwhile, he remains a subject of transfer interest for La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid

Kylian Mbappe has opened up about his future after helping Paris Saint-Germain clinch their first trophy in the New Year.

Mbappe and Lee Kang-in's first-half goals ensured PSG secured the maiden silverware of the French season on Wednesday evening, beating Toulouse 2-0 for the Trophee des Champions title.

Speaking to reporters after the game, the Frenchman shed light on his future as his current contract with the Parisians enters its final six months.

"First of all, I'm very, very, very motivated for this year. It's very important," Mbappe said, as quoted by Reuters.
"As I said, we've got titles to go after, and we've already won one, so that's already done. After that, no, I haven't made up my mind yet.

After digressing on issues relating to his future, Kylian suggested the club and himself are not in a rush to take any concrete decisions as he remained tight-lipped.

"But in any case, with the agreement I made with the chairman (Nasser Al-Khelaifi) this summer, it doesn't matter what I decide.
"We managed to protect all parties and preserve the club's serenity for the challenges ahead, which remains the most important thing. So we'll say it's secondary."

What's next for Mbappe?

The 25-year-old will now turn his attention to the French Cup, where PSG play as guests to lower tier side US Revel on Sunday, January 7, per Sofascore.

Mbappe's New Year's message

Sports Brief also reported on January 1 that Kylian Mbappe joined hands with the rest of the world as he basked in the Yuletide festivities with a poignant message.

With a tall list of competitions in sight, the 25-year-old is anticipating a "big 2024," and it comes as no surprise that it resonates in his New Year's message.

Mbappe wrote via X (previously known as Twitter): "Happy New Year, everyone. I wish health, happiness, and fulfilment to you and your loved ones. 2024 will be big!!!! šŸ„³šŸŽ‰ā¤ļø"
