Ivorian defender Eric Bailly has aired his views about the fallout between Cristiano Ronaldo and Erik ten Hag during their time at English Premier League side Manchester United.
It could be recalled that Ronaldo had a public fallout with Ten Hag after the former Real Madrid forward granted an interview with Piers Morgan and discussed some internal affairs at the club.
The Red Devils terminated Ronaldo's contract after the whole issue before joining Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr.
In a recent interview with the Athletic as per GOAL, Bailly spoke on Ronaldo's return to the club and claimed the Portuguese veteran is the best player in the world.
"Cristiano Ronaldo returned, the legend coming back. He was the best player in the world for me," he said.
The former Manchester United defender admitted that the way Ronaldo left the club was a shame after all he contributed to the team during the second spell.
"Even when he returned, Cristiano contributed a lot to the club, and a player like Cristiano deserves to feel important. It's a shame he left in the circumstances he did."
Ronaldo scored 18 goals in the Premier League in 30 games in the 2021-22 season after his sensational return to Old Trafford from Juventus but failed to break into Ten Hag's team the following season.
Ten Hag maintains he is the right man for the job
