Nigeria’s final 25-man squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations has created a buzz in the country, with rapper, OdumoduBlvck joining the trend to select his preferred starting eleven.
Jose Peseiro unveiled his 25-man final squad for the continental competition, which is set to kick off on January 13, with Nigeria’s camp for the tournament set to open this week in Abu Dhabi.
According to the Vanguard, the Super Eagles' final team consists of three goalkeepers, nine defenders, five midfielders, and eight forwards, including Victor Osimhen and Victor Boniface.
Other players such as Calvin Bassey, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, and captain Ahmed Musa also made the final squad.
The Super Eagles are drawn in Group A with hosts Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea Bissau.
They will kick off their AFCON 2023 campaign against Equatorial Guinea at the Alssanne Quattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan, on Sunday, January 14.
OdumoduBlvck picks Nigeria’s line-up
Meanwhile, OdumoduBlvck would love to see in-form Bayer Leverkusen forward, Victor Boniface lead the Super Eagles at AFCON 2023 alongside Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen.
The Declan Rice artist, who selected a 4-4-2 formation for the Super Eagles, also picked Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, and Ademola Lookman as his preferred midfielders.
Ola Aina, Calvin Bassey, Semi Ajayi, and Zaidu Sanusi complete the defensive set-up for OdumoduBlvck, who avoided selecting a goalkeeper for his squad amid the issues currently plaguing the Super Eagles.
