FootballEmmanuel Emenike: Former Nigerian Star Sets To Complete Incredible Hospital Facility in Owerri
- Emmanuel Emenike is set to launch an ultra-modern medical facility in Owerri
- The former Nigerian international has hinted the hospital is nearing completion
- A Lagos-based pharmacist commended the Super Eagles legend for the gesture
Former Nigerian international, Emmanuel Emenike is set to complete a state-of-the-art medical facility in Owerri, the capital of the Imo State.
The 36-year-old retired footballer is crafting a legacy of healing in the Eastern part of his country with a cutting-edge hospital project.
In 2021, Emenike disclosed that E. Emenike Medical Consultants Ltd would soon be ready and now the facility seems to be in the final stages.
He shared clips of the 'almost complete' project via his Instagram handle, capturing the blue and white background of the building.
The former Fenerbahce of Turkey forward was also spotted in some sections of the hospital as he seemed to be inspecting some of the equipment.
Emenike, who helped Nigeria to the AFCON title in 2013, has been quite astute since he retired from football. The former Super Eagles striker also has a hotel in the works, Sunnews reports.
Commending the ex-striker on his vision, a Lagos-based pharmacist, Oginni Ajibola, stated that this will help in reducing overcrowding in the government-funded primary health centres in the area. Oginni exclusively told Sports Brief:
"This is an amazing gesture from Emenike. There is a lot of medical tourism from the East. Most of the health facilities are dilapidated, and most of the time, most of the medical practitioners don't get to work because of the condition.
"The presence of the government is not felt in the primary health centres. Most primary health centres don't get properly funded, and state governments don't give them priority. So this is a good one."

FootballSports Brief also previously reported that Emenike lamented the demolition of houses in Lagos State with his post on social media.
Several homeowners in the state have cried out after the state government demolished properties that were built in an illegal area.
The governor of the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu had ordered the demolition of any illegal structures erected on canals and waterways.
