FootballKylian Mbappe: French Superstar Linked with January Transfer to Premier League Giants
- Paris Saint-Germain star, Kylian Mbappe’s future remains in the air
- The French superstar is now being linked with a move to Arsenal
- The Gunners reportedly want to bolster their attack in the winter
The Kylian Mbappe saga rages on.
The Frenchman's refusal to commit to Paris Saint-Germain has left his future a hot topic of speculation, and he is almost guaranteed to leave the Ligue 1 giants when his contract runs out in the summer.
Real Madrid remains Mbappe’s most plausible destination, with recent reports suggesting Los Blancos will make a last-ditch attempt to sign the 24-year-old in the summer in a hefty deal.
As per Diario AS, Real Madrid have given Mbappe until mid-January to make a pre-commitment to the club, or else they will seek alternatives.
Amid all speculation surrounding the French star, another club has emerged as a possible contender to sign the 2018 World Cup winner - Arsenal.
The Gunners narrowly missed out on the Premier League title last season, pipped by Manchester City, who enjoyed a good surge late in the season.
This season, Arsenal have shown signs they can compete for the title once again, but with a new season came new challenges for Mikel Arteta.
One of the most prominent is the lack of a proper goal-scorer, as Gabriel Jesus recently admitted that finding the back of the net was not a strength.
Arsenal linked with Mbappe
After Arsenal’s latest defeat to Fulham on December 31, Arteta was pressed by the media to reveal whether the Gunners would make January signings.
"[We have to] do what we have done in 19 of the games, with the same players," Arteta replied coyly.

FootballHowever, two of the biggest names linked to the Gunners in January have been Brentford striker, Ivan Toney and Napoli ace, Victor Osimhen, who recently committed to the Italian club with a new contract.
Mbappe, who is in his final six months as a PSG player, has also been linked to Arsenal, who can sign the talented Frenchman in the January transfer window, according to Football London.
Another ‘serious candidate’ to sign Mbappe has been Liverpool, who have reportedly been quietly monitoring the Frenchman’s situation for years.
While it is yet to be determined whether the 24-year-old will actually make a January move, it is highly likely he will leave Les Parisiens behind.
However, Mbappe has been in this situation before and ended up disappointing all potential suitors in 2021 by making a U-turn to extend his deal with PSG.
Arsenal stumble with loss to Fulham
Sports Brief also previously reported on Arsenal suffering a title chase stumble after losing to Fulham away at Craven Cottage on December 31.
The Gunners threw away a 1-0 lead against the Cottagers with coach, Mikel Arteta explaining why his team had lost on the last day of the year.
