Roberto Firmino and his Brazilian counterpart Fabinho were spotted at Liverpool’s home stadium months after they departed the club for the Saudi Pro League.
The pair are only two of several players Jurgen Klopp lost in the summer of 2023, with the other midfield departure being Jordan Henderson, who moved to Al Ettifaq.
In a video shared by Liverpool on their official X handle, Firmino and Fabinho can be seen interacting with their former teammate Thiago prior to the Newcastle game.
Fabinho is also seen donning a red umbrella on the touchline, to the delight of Liverpool fans.
Where did Firmino and Fabinho go?
After departing Liverpool, Firmino joined Al Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, with Fabinho becoming his rival in the Middle East after signing for Al-Ittihad.
Both players are enjoying a month-long break before their league resumes action.
From a league table standpoint, Firmino is enjoying a better season than Fabinho, as Al Ahli sit in third place on the log, behind Al Hilal in first and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr. Al Ittihad are seventh with 28 points, according to GOAL.com.
Since their departures, Liverpool have had to sign replacements, and Klopp now has a new-look midfield comprising summer signings Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo
