Morocco vs Cote d'Ivoire ended 1-0 in favour of the North African side as they qualify into the last 16 of AFCON 2019 tournament.
Right from the blast of the whistle, the Ivorians were on the front foot as Sege Aurier delivered a delightful cross in the box for Jonathan Kodjia whose header was cleared off the line by Romain Saiss.

The Atlas Lions responded in the 18th minute as Youssef En-Nesyri hit the side-netting from a low cross down the right flank.

The Elephants should have equalized two minutes later a Nicholas Pepe spilled a glorious chance after the keeper came out to save Max-Alain Grade's attempt.
En-Nesyri almost got his second of the game as Amrabat sold a dummy to the Ivorian defence but the striker pull off a fine save from goalkeeper Sylvain Gbohouo.
It stayed 1-0 at half time as there was much to play for in the second half as both teams went into the break to re-strategize.

Amrabat and En-Nesyri became a thorn in the flesh of the Ivorians as the Al-Nassr star provided another teasing cross to the Leganes striker but his header went just wide in the 73rd minute.
With ten minutes left to play, Pepe was unlucky not have had a last touch to score into an empty net as the ball went agonizingly wide.

Herve Renard held on to earn a well deserved win as the Atlas Lions book their play into the next round of the competition.
Pepe also tried an acrobatic effort in the 89th minute but Morocco's keeper was at the right place and at the right time to save the ball.
Substitute Noussair Mazroui hit the post late on from a beautiful cross from Achraf Hakimi during time added on.
