Pitso Mosimane has explained the controversial tactics he used in keeping Mamelodi Sundowns players from being intoxicated during his time with the Premier Soccer League giants.
Some footballers are known to go against the rules of the coach when it comes to taking alcohol, but Mosimane had a strategic way of handling the issue when he was Sundown's coach.
The former Al-Ahly manager had a good spell with the Masandawana, and he's one of the most decorated coaches in the club's history.
Mosiamne, in a recent interview with TimesLive's SportsLive as per FARPost, claimed he had his way of dealing with the issue of alcohol in his dressing room.
"My strength has always been the dressing room. The generals who coach the team in the dressing room," he said.
"Mabunda coaches the dressing room. Mshishi [Themba Zwane] does not miss training. The breathalyser does not come anywhere near him. The minute it comes out, generals must know, and they will say, we will take care of it.
"Those generals are true generals; they know their job. I did not go to address the alcohol issue because it was sorted.
They will tell whoever comes to training under the influence of alcohol, you see, I am in my 30s. I want to go as long as I can. I need you. If you are not doing well, it affects me, and my contract will end. Please help me. I need to finish paying for the house."
