When Pitso Mosimane gets linked to a job, managers get scared.
The South African manager has been rated as one of Africa’s best coaches in recent years, and he has now been linked with a return to Egypt with Pyramids FC, who are considering hiring the former Sundowns coach.
According to iDiski Times, Pyramids manager Jamie Pacheco is not happy his job is being advertised while he is still in charge and has lashed out against the media who questioned his future with the ambitious Egyptian club.
“This is a question that should not be asked from a person who understands football. He may be hired and work for the clubs that are against us and are trying to destroy our work.
“I respect everyone and therefore I must be treated with respect. The question in this form about my dismissal after the loss is an attack and carries a kind of belittlement, and the press conference has no place or correct timing.”
Pacheco is currently on a four-game winless run, which saw them lose the top spot in the Egyptian Premier League to ZED FC
Chiefs to regret not hiring Mosimane
Meanwhile, some Keizer Chiefs supporters believe the South African club will regret not hiring Pitso Mosimane should he decide to move to North Africa and sign up with Egyptian club Pyramids FC, SNL reports.
The three-time CAF Champions League winner has been strongly linked with the Chiefs job, although nothing has been finalised with the former Al Ahly and Sundowns coach.
Pyramids are said to be looking at Mosimane as a replacement for underperforming manager Jamie Pacheco, who has come under criticism for the club’s slump in form.
