Newcastle United owners remain the richest Premier League club owners despite Sir Jim Ratcliffe's Manchester United deal.

The Magpies are owned by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund, RB Sports and Media, and PCP Capital Partners.

The consortium took ownership of the club back in 2021 to end Mike Ashley's 14-year reign at St. James Park.

According to Sky Sports, the £300m takeover saw the PIF take control of an 80 per cent stake at the club.

Chaired by Mohammed bin Salman and governed by Al-Rumayyan, the consortium has a net worth of £489billion, enough to make them the richest Premier League club owners.

Manchester United's Glazer Family and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are placed second on the rich list.

United sprung into second following Ratcliffe's recent arrival at the club.

The British billionaire acquired a 25 per cent stake at Old Trafford in a deal worth around £1.3billion.

The Mirror reports that the takeover is still subject to ratification from the Premier League.

Ratcliffe's net worth is said to be at around £18.3billion, making United the second-richest owned club when taking into consideration the net worth of the Glazers.

Who are the other wealthy EPL club owners?

Meanwhile, Manchester City owners, the Abu Dhabi United Group and Silver Lake are placed third in the rich list.

Sheikh Mansour bought the Manchester club in 2008 and has played a key part in the club's transformation.

The Mansours have a net worth of around £17.3billion.

Elsewhere, Chelsea's owners are ranked fourth by net worth, with Arsenal's Stan Kroenke completing the top five podium.

Todd Boehly bought the Blues from Roman Abramovich for £4.2billion and has already invested almost £1billion, mainly on new players.

Boehly's exchange with fans

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Chelsea fans venting their frustration at co-owner and chairman Todd Boehly, who was in attendance for the game.

The incident happened after Chelsea suffered a 2-1 defeat at home against Brighton under ex-boss Frank Lampard.

It was the third straight loss for caretaker manager Frank Lampard, who replaced the sacked Graham Potter until the end of the season while the search for a new manager continues.
