The Al-Nassr captain scored a brace in the game against Al-Ittihad, as his team secured a 5-2 win. Sadio Mane also grabbed a brace as Al-Nassr ran riot after Al-Ittihad were reduced to 10 men. The brace meant that the Portuguese superstar has now scored 53 goals in the calendar year.

Who Ronaldo leads

He has now pulled ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe and Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, who were both on 52 goals.

Erling Haaland was the fourth-highest goal scorer this year, scoring 50 goals.

Manchester City have two games to go before the year comes to an end, but Haaland is currently injured and a doubt to feature in their next game, Manchester Evening News reported.

City will take on Everton on Wednesday, December 27, and Sheffield United on Saturday, December 30. Ronaldo will have one more game to stretch his lead as Al-Nassr take on Al-Taawoun on December 30 as well.
