Chelsea supporters revere Didier Drogba as an icon of the English Premier League clubs owing to his brilliant performances and achievements during his time in London.
The Ivorian forward joined the Blues from Marseille in 2004 and spent a total of 10 years at the club, becoming a cult hero with a total of 12 trophies won before his departure.
Former teammate Eidur Gudjohnsen has now disclosed Drogba worked his way to the top at Chelsea as he did not always have it rosy, especially in his first season at the London club.
"Drogba struggled in his first season. The fans got to know the real Didier [Drogba] after one or two seasons.
“In the second season, he started to settle, developed his personality and became one of the leaders of the dressing room. And eventually became a club legend."
According to Wikipedia, Drogba scored a total of 177 goals for the Blues and is regarded as one of the club’s best strikers in their recent history.

Meanwhile, Didier Drogba, one of the biggest names in world football over the previous two decades, and his partner Gabrielle LeMaire will become new club owners in the UIM E1 World Championship, Africa News reports.
The Ivory Coast striker, who played for Marseille, Galatasaray, Shanghai Shenhua and Montreal Impact will enter his own team called Team Drogba under the colourful Ivory Coast flag for the inaugural season of the world’s first all-electric raceboat championship.
Drogba joins seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady as the newest celebrity team owner in the E1 World Championship, which was announced in July.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Didier Drogba has maximum respect for Erling Haaland after the Manchester City striker kept his promise during their conversation at the Ballon d'Or ceremony.
Haaland lost the race for the award to Lionel Messi but won the Gerd Muller Trophy as the best striker, having scored 56 goals last season to help City to the treble.
During the presentation by Gary Lineker, Drogba challenged the Norwegian to choose between either men's celebration for his next goal after the ceremony.
