FootballCavin Johnson Explains Why Kaizer Chiefs Will Not Sign New Players During January Transfer Window
- Cavin Johnson has ruled out signing new players for Kaizer Chiefs in January
- The tactician wants his present squad members to adapt to his game plan
- AmaKhosi were victorious in all of their last three games, but club fans are not convinced
Kaizer Chiefs' interim coach, Cavin Johnson, has stated that there are no plans to sign new players during the forthcoming January transfer window.
Football teams are preparing to swoop on available players, but AmaKhosi will not be doing business during the period.
Johnson has seen his side win all of their last three matches as they move up to sixth position on the Premier Soccer League standings.
Despite the recent victories, there are concerns over the club's performances as fans have lost confidence in the squad.
However, Johnson disagrees that signing new players will solve the team's current issues. He emphasised that the current squad members are yet to understand his tactics fully.
Johnson said via iDiski Times:
“At the moment, nothing. I don’t want any players because I think the time I’ve spent with them, is far too little, if I can change players, if there’s any coach who can change players over two months, then I eat my hat,” Johnson said when asked if they need new personnel.
“So at the moment, yes, you are correct, there are some patterns that work but not work all the time.
“We need to make sure it’s repetition of repetition to make it work, to become better players and I’ve said this before… you join Chiefs as a good player and if you’re the coach – I need to make you a better player."
Shandre Campbell linked with Kaizer Chiefs
Sports Brief earlier reported that a former Orlando Pirates star, Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi, urged Kaizer Chiefs to make haste in signing impressive youngster Shandre Campbell.
