Nigerian international Ahmed Musa has expressed his sadness over the attacks by gunmen in Plateau State on Christmas Eve, Sunday, December 24.

Many people were killed in the fresh attack by assailants on different communities of Bokkos and Barkin-Ladi Local Government Areas of Plateau State.

Reports have it that the attack started on Saturday, December 23, and lasted into Christmas Eve.

The Nigerian police reported that 96 persons were killed while 221 houses were set ablaze during the attack, according to a report by The Punch.

The State Commissioner of Police, Okoro Alawari, disclosed that the assailants attacked 15 different communities.

The former Leicester City forward took to his official X (formerly known as Twitter) to react to the killings in the Northern Nigerian state.

"I am standing against the violence in Plateau State," he said.
"It's heartbreaking to witness the recent violence in Plateau State. My thoughts are with those affected.
"We need to stand together against hate and violence. Let love and understanding prevail.
"Together, we can make a difference. 🤲 Let us show love to one another."

Musa was born in Jos, Plateau State, and spent part of his football career there when he turned out for JUTH FC before joining Kano Pillars.

Musa splashes apartments on journalist, three others

Sports Brief earlier reported that Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa took his philanthropic gestures to a whole new level as he splashes the flats in his newly built mini-estate on four remarkable individuals.

Situated in the Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Musa had completed the housing facility, including two units of 3-bedroom flats, one unit of 2-bedroom apartments, and a 1-bedroom flat.

The Sivasspor of Turkey forward disclosed that his loyal gateman Amos received the one-bedroom apartment within the residence, while Nigerian journalist Joan Iwuchuku was handed the keys to the 2-bedroom apartment.
