Barcelona defender Jules Kounde arrived in Dakar, Senegal to a rapturous welcome following the break in La Liga for the winter holidays.

The France right-back took time off to visit the Be Sport Academy, which is in partnership with Spanish giants, Barcelona.

The Academy has a five-year agreement with the La Liga outfit, where young players are given the opportunity to fly to Spain for trials each year.

In photos and videos shared on social media, Kounde is seen with players of the Academy as well as fans who came around to meet the defender.

The former Sevilla defender took the moment to inspire the aspiring players, urging the youngsters to pursue their dreams with all seriousness.

"An inspiring day with Jules Kounde at Be Sport Academy. His visit brought a dose of motivation and unique experience to our young talents. Thanks to this champion for his commitment and generosity. Together, we cultivate success on and off the pitch," wrote the Academy on social media.

Kounde has been a key figure at Barcelona since joining them from rivals Sevilla, making 15 appearances in La Liga this season.

Asked about Barcelona's form during a presser in Senegal, he said: "We are one of the teams that create the most chances in Europe but we have struggled to make them a reality."

Barcelona have drawn two, lost two and won only one of their last five matches.
