  • Victor Osimhen signed a contract extension with Napoli over the weekend
  • The Super Eagles striker is still being linked with a move to two EPL giants
  • The Nigerian striker's agent leaves transfer door open for other suitors

Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen recently signed a new contract with Napoli, but his agent, Roberto Calenda, has refused to close the door on the possibility of leaving the club.

The Nigerian international has been one of the best players for the Italian side since joining them from Lille in 2020.

The former Wolfsburg striker signed a one-year extension with Napoli over the weekend, and it's a reward for his stellar performance for the club last season.

In an interview with Corriere Della Sport as per Soccernet, the Nigerian striker's agent, Calenda, claimed there is still a possibility of negotiating his client's departure from the club in the summer.

"Look, last summer, many offers arrived, even monstrous ones, but De Laurentiis wanted to keep Victor, and we made ourselves available," he said.
"If there had been the desire to leave, we would have said so. And instead, we worked, and a lot, only upon renewal. And next summer, it will be the same: we will talk to De Laurentiis and see what to do together."

Calenda's claims about the Nigerian international's future at Napoli have left the transfer door open for the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea.

The London clubs are reportedly interested in pricing the Super Eagles striker away from the Neapolitans.

Osimhen gets second Napoli red

Sports Brief previously reported that Victor Osimhen received his second red card of his Napoli career as the reigning Serie A champions had a massive setback to their title defence after suffering a 2-0 loss to AS Roma.

The 24-year-old, who only just extended his contract with the Partenopeans, received two quickfire yellow cards as he bagged the second red card of his Napoli career.

Osimhen was shown a yellow card for a poor foul in the second half. Then, ten minutes later, he committed another cheap foul to get his second yellow and his marching orders.
