Jose Mourinho got involved in a heated row with Napoli star Victor Osimhen before the Super Eagles striker got sent off as Roma defeated the reigning Serie A champions.
Napoli suffered yet another embarrassing defeat after they fell 2-0 against Roma thanks to second-half goals from Lorenzo Pellegrini and Romelu Lukaku.
According to GOAL, the game also witnessed a tense moment between Mourinho and Osimhen as the Roma manager was involved in a touchline spat with the 2023 Africa Player of the Year following an incident.
The Roma boss was infuriated with Osimhen after it appeared the Napoli striker had dived in the box in a bid to win a penalty for his side in the first half but the pair ended up settling their difference amicably.
Osimhen would later receive his marching orders from the referee in the game after he was shown a red card late after he received a second yellow card in the 86th, 13 minutes after his first booking.
Mourinho proud of Roma’s victory
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has commended his team for playing well and earning an impressive victory against the reigning Serie A champions Napoli on Saturday night, Roma Press reports.
The 60-year-old manager highlighted his players had been fatigued coming into the fixture, but their determination to get a positive result gave them the willpower to push through to seal a 2-0 victory.
Roma came back strongly after a 2-0 defeat against Bologna last week. They will now aim to pick up yet another win as they face Juventus on December 30.
