Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau has equalled Mosimane's record of being the second South African to win his bronze medal at the FIFA Club World Cup twice, according to a report by iDiskiTimes.

Tau was part of the Al Ahly team that won bronze in the just concluded Club World Cup competition in Saudi Arabia. Manchester City were crowned the champions after defeating Fluminese in the final.

Mosimane and Tau were bronze medalist winners during their time together in Al Ahly in 2021, but the former Brighton was not part of the team when the Egyptian side took third place in 2020.

The former Club Brugge star claimed his second bronze medal after scoring Al Ahly's 4-2 win over Urawa Red Diamonds.

Tau Breaks Quinton Fortune's Record

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Tau has broken Quinton Fortune's record by becoming South Africa's all-time top scorer in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Tau scored his first goal in the competition in 2016 for Mamelodi Sundowns, then scored another for the Egyptian giants in 2022.

According to GOAL, Fortune bagged two goals for Manchester United in the 2000 edition.

He had an outstanding season with Al Ahly, leading as the player with the most goal contributions.

The winger scored five goals and provided five assists in 12 matches in the CAF Champions League.
