FootballLiverpool vs Arsenal: Jurgen Klopp Sent Flying by His Own Player in Viral Clip
- Liverpool lost Kostas Tsimikas to a bizarre shoulder injury on Saturday
- The Greek international accidentally collided with Jurgen Klopp during the Arsenal game
- He was forced off in the first half and replaced by Joe Gomez
There was a comical moment during the Liverpool vs Arsenal clash as defender Kostas Tsimikas was forced off injured after a bizarre collision with his own manager.
The incident took place in the 33rd minute when the Greek left-back was battling for the ball with Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka near the touchline.
Saka shoulder-barged the former Olympiakos man, who was sent flying straight into his manager Jurgen Klopp, who also ended up hitting the deck.
Despite the comical moment, the Greek international came off worse and had to be replaced by Joe Gomez with what looked like a shoulder injury.
Replays appeared to show Tsimikas connecting with Klopp’s leg as he was falling from the challenge by Saka.
Liverpool fans can only hope the full-back’s injury is not as dire, as Jurgen Klopp’s side is struggling in the left-back position.
As it stands, Liverpool currently doesn’t have a fit senior left back as Andy Robertson is also out with a shoulder injury, but is expected to return in January. He has been sidelined since October, according to ThisisAnfield.com
How the game went
The top-of-the-table clash did not disappoint, as Arsenal took the lead early on through defender Gabriel Magalhães in the fourth minute.
In the 29th minute, Mohamed Salah restored parity after expertly cutting past Oleksandr Zinchenko before firing an unstoppable shot past David Raya.
Despite both teams’ best efforts, the game ended in a 1-1 stalemate as Arsenal remained top of the table.

FootballSports Brief also reported on why Martin Odegaard got away with an offence despite blatantly handling the ball in the box on Saturday.
There was a bit of controversy in the 20th minute when Odegaard appeared to handle the ball inside the area. Centre referee Chris Kavanagh waved away the Liverpool appeals, with his Video Assistant David Coote rubberstamping the decision.
The Norwegian turned in the penalty area and as he attempted to play the ball, he slipped and visibly grabbed it. The referees' body, the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), explained that Odegaard's arm was moving towards his body after he slipped, not the ball, as reported by Sky Sports via the Mirror.
