Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel is surprised that Erik ten Hag splashed €100m for Brazilian winger Antony ahead of Mohammed Kudus of West Ham.

Antony and Kudus played under the Dutch trainer while he was coach of Ajax Amsterdam.

Ten Hag decided to move to England with Antony despite the club's interest in the Ghanaian attacking midfielder.

The decision seemed to have backfired after Kudus haunted his former coach and teammate with a blistering performance at the London Olympic Stadium on Saturday.

Kudus was on target as West Ham strolled to a 2-0 victory to present their first with a delightful Christmas gift.

“There’s something about that boy [Kudus], he’s special. I don’t get it. If he [Ten Hag] knows these boys very well, why did he pick Antony ahead of Kudus?,” said Schmeichel, as quoted by Kick GH.

The Black Stars forward who joined West Ham United in the summer transfer window has made 15 goals contribution this season, with six in the English Premier League, per Transfermarkt.

Kudus will join his Black Stars teammates for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in January.

Kudus scores as West Ham beat Man United

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Mohammed Kudus scored for the second week running as West Ham United left it late to beat Manchester United at the London Olympic Stadium.

Two quick-fire goals ensured the Hammers collected all three points in front of their fans as Manchester United left London with another poor display.

After a barren first half, the host showed no signs of exertion from midweek as they controlled most of the second half.

Kudus discloses biggest achievement

Sports Brief also reported that Ghana and West Ham United midfielder, Mohammed Kudus has disclosed his pride after relocating his mother by moving her from the slums.

The Black Stars midfielder bought his mother a house after making his first move to Europe, where he joined FC Nordsjaelland.

Kudus has been in sensational form since moving to West Ham in England.
