Karim Adeyemi: Dortmund Star Visits Nigeria, Joins Children's End of Year Party in Lagos

Borussia Dortmund forward, Karim Adeyemi is in Nigeria for the winter break, where he is expected to spend time doing some philanthropic work.

Adeyemi, born to Nigerian parents in Germany, visited his academy in Nigeria before joining children from Ajeromi Ifelodun community for an end-of-year party hosted by the Nathaniel Idowu Foundation.

The German international also took time to teach the young kids the basics of football as he enjoyed his time in Lagos.

In photos and videos shared on social media, Adeyemi joined players of the U12 team of his academy for a good exercise despite having protective gear on one of his legs.

“As I said, I think I have my roots here. My father is from here, and his heart is still here in Nigeria. Of course, my heart is also here in Nigeria,” he said, as quoted by Soccernet NG.
“[There is] a story of how I came here to Nigeria. I saw the kids playing football on the street, and I played with them. It’s a small story, but it touched my heart all my life. So I try to give something back to the community.” he added.

The 21-year-old is enjoying a good season with the German giants, having scored two goals in six games as Dortmund finished top of their group in the UEFA Champions League. Adeyemi was also named the fastest player at the group stage of the competition.

He has also made 11 appearances in the Bundesliga this season.

Adeyemi is expected to play a huge role next year when Germany host the 2024 European championship.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Borussia Dortmund forward, Karim Adeyemi disclosed the secret behind his supersonic speed.

The German international of Nigerian descent opened up about his blistering pace following his stunning solo goal against Chelsea in the Champions League.

Adeyemi, who holds the record as the fastest player in the Bundesliga, made use of his pace as he bypassed Enzo Fernandez before rounding goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga to score the match-winner, GOAL reports.
