- The forward has now attracted interest from two giants in Spain
- Manchester United look set to sell Greenwood off in the summer
Mason Greenwood has attracted interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona amid an impressive stint on loan at Getafe.
Manchester United shipped off the embattled forward to La Liga amid a reported outcry within the club when it emerged that he could potentially return to the team.
The 22-year-old was handed a career lifeline earlier this year after charges of assault and controlling and coercive behaviour were dropped by the English courts.
United launched its investigation into the striker and deemed it best if the two parties parted ways.
At Getafe, however, Greenwood appears determined to get his career back on track. He has five goals in 15 games with the club and his performances have attracted interest from other teams.
According to Daily Star, Barcelona and Real Madrid, two of Spain’s biggest clubs, are monitoring the Englishman and would be open to taking up his services.
Per Barcelona's official website, the Catalan giants have four main forwards: Ferran Torres, Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Joao Felix, the latter who is on loan from Atletico Madrid.
Greenwood will likely integrate seamlessly into the Barcelona attack as he can play from either side of the flanks - thanks to his ability to strike the ball effectively with both feet.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, are embroiled in a La Liga battle with Girona and could use reinforcements in the summer, especially since the club tends to lack attacking power when Vinicius Junior is out injured.
Man United's stance on Greenwood
Meanwhile, Man United’s stance on Greenwood remains unchanged and the forward will almost certainly leave the Old Trafford club in the summer, per the Mirror.
