- His brother, Kylian Mbappe scored two goals on his 25th birthday in their win
There was a rare sight on Wednesday, December 20, during Paris Saint-Germain's game against Metz, as two Mbappes graced it at some point.
Ethan Mbappe, Kylian Mbappe’s younger brother, made his debut for the French club in a heartwarming moment.
The older Mbappe had put his side firmly in control of the game with a brace, which helped PSG to a 3-1 win in their final game of 2023.
Towards the dying stages, PSG boss, Luis Enrique decided to give Ethan his debut as the youngster, who turns 17 on December 29, was brought on in the second half of added time.
While he did not get too many minutes during the game, it was delightful to see Ethan share a professional game alongside his superstar older brother.
According to Fan Nation, the younger Mbappe attempted nine passes during his cameo and they were all successful.
Ethan Mbappe’s rise to PSG’s first team
Ethan was present at his older brother’s unveiling as a PSG player in 2017, according to ESPN. Back then, he was barely 10 years old and few would have envisioned him playing alongside his brother six years later.
In his youth career, the younger Mbappe brother developed mainly as a defensive-minded midfielder and played for the French team at a youth level. However, he is yet to make his senior debut for the national team.
Ethan started his career with AS Bondy but signed for PSG in 2017 as a youth player, the same year Mbappe joined the French giants. Interestingly, both Mbappes are contracted at the club until 2024.
