Former Brazil and Real Madrid forward, Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima has disclosed his admiration for Cameroon legend, Samuel Eto'o.
Ronaldo, widely regarded as the greatest striker of all time, faced Eto'o during his time in La Liga when the Los Blancos engaged Barcelona in the El Classico.
Despite the big names from both sides, it was the former Cameroon captain who impressed him the most.
"At one time, Barcelona had Ronaldinho and Eto'o. It was the era of the Galacticos and the Clasicos were difficult matches. Of course, I knew the talent of Ronaldinho. We had won the 2002 World Cup together. But the Barça player who impressed me the most was Samuel Eto'o," he said, as quoted by French Football Weekly.
Eto'o had a similar career path as the two-time World Cup winner, playing for Real Madrid, Barcelona and Inter Milan.
The three-time world best player wished he played alongside Eto'o, claiming they would have formed a deadly duo.
"We have the same trajectory, he played in Madrid, Barcelona and Inter like me. I like his mentality, he is fast, technical and efficient. He could play anywhere on the pitch, making vertical runs to press and touch the ball. Eto'o is a fighter and if I had had the opportunity to play with him, we would have formed a beast duo in attack," added the legendary Brazilian.
Both players had stellar careers but Ronaldo was massively troubled by injuries.
However, it did not affect his greatness as he came from a serious injury to win the World Cup in 2002 with Brazil, as reported by FIFA.
