Mohammed Kudus will link up with Ghana for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations next month and West Ham manager, David Moyes is already ruing the forward's absence.

The 23-year-old, who has nine goals in 15 appearances this season, has become an integral part of the Hammers despite only joining the Premier League club this summer from Dutch giants, Ajax.

According to BEIN Sport, Moyes admitted Kudus’ upcoming absence would be a huge blow to the ambitions of West Ham, who are pushing to seal European qualification this season.

"It is a huge blow [to lose him] because he scores goals and makes goals. We’re going to have to find other ways. I have to say, we will hugely miss him," Moyes confessed after the victory over Wolves.

Kudus, who is set to lead the Black Stars attack in Ivory Coast from January 14 to February 11, could miss up to nine matches for West Ham depending on how far Ghana progresses in the tournament.

West Ham fans hail Kudus

Meanwhile, West Ham fans have hailed Kudus as 'the signing of the season' following the 23-year-old forward’s impressive performances for the Premier League club, Talk Sport has reported.

The Ghanaian made his eighth Premier League start of the season for the Hammers against Wolves on Sunday and found the back of the net twice to help Moyes' team to a comfortable 3-0 victory.

West Ham beat off competition from Chelsea and Brighton and Hove Albion to sign Kudus, completing a £38 million deal for the Ghanaian, who has since become a fan favourite for the Londoners.

Kudus endorses Leicester City players

Sports Brief previously reported that Kudus has reacted after Leicester City forwards, Stephy Mavididi and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku replicated his celebration during their game against Birmingham City.

Issahaku, who is teammates with Kudus in the Ghanaian national team, joined Mavididi as they sat on the advertising hoardings to celebrate Leicester's opener in the 3-2 Championship victory at St Andrews.
