South African tactician, Pitso Mosimane has showered encomiums on Nigerian international, Victor Osimhen following the latter's performance in Napoli's 2-1 win over Cagliari.
The 24-year-old put up a man-of-the-match performance during the Serie A encounter, scoring a goal and registering a sensational assist.
Osimhen headed his side into the lead in the 69th minute of the clash, sending the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium into a frenzy.
However, it took the visitors just three minutes later to respond courtesy of a sublime finish by Leonardo Pavoletti.
Osimhen then turned from scorer to provider when he solely took on five men in the opposition danger box before his pass found Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who scored the winner, Football Italia reports.
Despite having three men around him, the Nigerian forward juggled his way through before squaring the ball to his partner struck to give the Partenopei the deserved victory.
Osimhen's performance caught the attention of Mosimane, who has been linked with the Super Eagles coaching job recently. The former Al Wahda of UAE manager wrote:
"That’s why he is this year’s best African Player. +€100m player," along with applause emojis.
Several clubs across Europe are on the trail of the former Lille of France striker, who was recently crowned the 2023 CAF Africa Player of the Year.
