Bellingham opened the scoring in the 25th minute of the game, heading home beautifully from close range.

While the former Borussia Dortmund captain received praise for the way in which he scored the goal, many were in awe of Luka Modric’s assist.

The former Ballon d’Or winner produced a brilliant no-look first-touch cross into the box for Bellingham to latch onto.

It marked his 17th goal in all competitions for Madrid in just 20 games.

Modric shows his class

As noted by Transfermarkt, Modric made his 14th appearance for Los Blancos when he started the game against Villarreal and also notched up his third assist with his pass for Bellingham.

He also grabbed a goal for himself in the second half as Madrid ran out 4-1 winners and moved to the top of the table. They have played one game more than Girona, who will have the chance to leapfrog Carlo Ancelotti's side with a win in their next game.

Modric has been hoping to get more game time for the side, and proved that he is still class once he gets a chance to play. As noted by SportBible, he has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu and has received several offers already.
