- Jose Mourinho won a trophy at every club he has joined except for Tottenham
- He was sacked by the London club six days before the 2021 Carabao Cup final
- Spurs lost 1-0 to Manchester City and extended their trophy drought till today
Jose Mourinho remains displeased with Tottenham Hotspur over how his dismissal was handled after just 17 months in charge of the Premier League club.
Mourinho is a serial winner and has won at least one trophy at every club he has managed, including AS Roma, where he is in his third season, winning the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League in 2021.
The Special One has won a league title in all countries he has managed - the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, and his home country, the Portuguese league (Primeira Liga).
Top of his achievements was winning the UEFA Champions League with FC Porto and winning Chelsea’s first Premier League title in 50 years in his first season in English football.
Mourinho aims dig at Tottenham
Mourinho was appointed Tottenham boss after the dismissal of Mauricio Pochettino, who was in charge for five years but failed to deliver any silverware.
He claimed Spurs would not be his only club without silverware but the North London club defied him, sacking him six days before the 2021 Carabao Cup final.
Ryan Mason guided the team to the final against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City where they lost 1-0.
The former Chelsea boss slammed Tottenham for the incident on Obi One Podcast:
"This was a club that has an empty trophy room, then sacks me two days before a final. That was the one that... Come on," Mourinho commented.
Per Goal, despite a storied career with 26 trophies, the former Real Madrid boss once claimed finishing second with Manchester United in the Premier League was his greatest achievement.
