According to Sportbible, the Spaniard lost his cool after Brighton ace Kaoru Mitoma escaped punishment despite fouling Bukayo Saka.

The incident happened just moments after Arsenal defender Ben White was yellow-carded for a foul on Mitoma.

However, centre referee Tim Robinson appeared unbothered when Mitoma fouled Saka, sparking protestation from Arteta.

The Arsenal boss's antics earned him a yellow card, with Robinson wasting no time to caution him.

The decision sparked outrage from a section of fans, with some arguing the decision was too harsh.

Arsenal see off Brighton

Meanwhile, despite the happenings in the first half, the Gunners were able to step up in the second half to see off Brighton.

Football London reports that two second-half goals from Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz earned the north Londoners a crucial win to boost their title hopes.

Jesus opened the scoring in the 53rd minute before Havertz doubled the advantage with three minutes left on the clock.
