Arsenal transfer news: Which players did Arsenal bring in during the January transfer window?
FootballTop 10 Oldest Players in the Premier League 2023/2024 Including Thiago Silva, James Milner
- Thiago Silva is the oldest player in the Premier League this season
- The Brazilian centre-back joined Chelsea in 2020 from PSG
- We take a look at who joins him in the top 10 in England's top-division
Thiago Silva recently made history as the oldest-ever player to feature for Chelsea in their 4-1 drubbing to Newcastle United on November 26.
Save for an uncharacteristic mistake at St.James Park, the Brazilian, by and large, continued to put in impressive performances for an otherwise struggling Mauricio Pochettino's side.
The veteran centre-back has featured in all of Chelsea's Premier League matches this season bar one. He is the only player above 30 in the current setup, with Raheem Sterling following at 29.
Thiago Silva's experience
Silva's experience is drawn from his days in the Portuguese and Italian leagues before a long spell at Paris Saint-Germain, where he eventually rose to the rank of captain. He moved to London in 2020 on a free transfer and won the Champions League the following year.
In a recent interview, he played down the term 'old,' preferring to be judged by the experience he brings to the team.
"Generally, I hear a lot of people talking about the 'oldest player' and constant references to 'old'. People are looking at my age a lot, but I’d prefer it if people would refer to it as an experience rather than “oldest player this, oldest player that," he told Chelsea's website.
