The event, held in Accra on Saturday, December 15, drew footballers from various age groups, offering a unique opportunity for young talents to learn from the wealth of experience synonymous with La Liga.

The seminar also focused on a multifaceted approach to player development, acknowledging that success in football is not solely measured by on-field prowess but also by character and integrity.

One of the primary themes covered in the workshop was the importance of discipline in shaping a successful football career.

The young footballers from Avranches FC and AS Koppan, who made it to the seminar, were guided through strategies to maintain a disciplined lifestyle both on and off the field, recognising that commitment and consistency are key elements in the journey to becoming a professional footballer.

In an interview with Sports Brief, the Country Manager for LaLiga Ghana and Nigeria, Desmond Chiji, emphasised the critical role of grassroots development in building a robust football foundation.

"Grassroots football and football education is very key in a player's development, and that is the reason we have organised this seminar," Chiji said.
"This seminar will helpe to create a good relationship between LaLiga and academies in Ghana. It's important to note that talent is not enough, so we also want to help young players in the academy know what is required of them at the professional football level. And it's not only beneficial to on the players, the football academy as a whole will also benefit.

A significant aspect of the workshop focused on the values of honesty and transparency in the footballing world.

The young footballers were encouraged to uphold ethical standards, emphasising the importance of fair play, integrity, and respect both on and off the pitch.

Another initiative by LaLiga to extend its expertise to football academies by sponsoring at least two promising Ghanaian players for training at renowned football academies in Spain.

This collaboration exemplifies La Liga's dedication to cultivating talent beyond its domestic boundaries and contributing to the overall development of the sport.
