FootballMan City: Rival Fans All Say the Same Thing as Cityzens Blow Two-Goal Lead vs Crystal Palace
- Manchester City blew a two-goal lead against Crystal Palace
- Michael Olise’s 95th-minuteth penalty ensured the two teams shared the spoils
- This was City’s third successive game at home without a win
Rival football fans have all come up with the same conclusion after Manchester City’s frustrating draw against Crystal Palace on Saturday, December 16.
Michael Olise scored a 95th-minuteth penalty as Roy Hodgson’s side came from two goals down to salvage a famous point at the Etihad.
City had initially taken the lead through Phil Foden and Rico Lewis.
However, Foden went from hero to villain for his side as he caught Jean-Philippe Mateta in the box in stoppage time, and Olise made no mistake from 12 yards.
According to BBC, the draw was City’s third successive one at home , and potentially leaves them in danger of falling further back in the title race.
Fans react on social media
Fans who watched the game reacted the same way on social media as they taunted City for apparently getting dealt a slice of “karma”.
In the 42nd minute, with City leading 1-0, Palace’s Mateta was through on goal but was maliciously tripped by the home side goalkeeper Ederson.
Many fans believed the Brazilian should have received his marching orders, but the referee only brandished a yellow card, and City added a second 10 minutes into the second half.

What next for City?
City will now turn their attention to the Club World Cup, where they face Urawa Red Diamonds in the semi-final on Tuesday, December 19.
Before that, however, the Cityzens will be closely monitoring their title rivals Liverpool and Arsenal, who face Manchester United and Brighton , respectively.
Liverpool have the chance to go six points clear of City with a win against the Red Devils at Anfield.
Grealish extends Premier League scoring streak
Sports Brief also reported on Jack Grealish’s scoring streak, which he extended with a goal for Manchester City on Sunday.
The Manchester City star set a new personal record on Saturday, scoring in his third successive Premier League game.
His curling effort was nearly ruled out for offside, but another angle showed his goal was perfectly fine, giving Manchester City a 1-0 lead.
