FootballMo Salah: Egypt Star Makes Transfer Decision Amid Interests From Saudi Arabia
- Egypt striker Mohamed Salah is unlikely to leave Liverpool in January
- Salah is subject to a renewed interest from the Saudi Pro League
- Liverpool rejected a record-breaking bid for Salah in the summer
Mohamed Salah remains a target for Saudi Arabian clubs, but the Liverpool superstar is unlikely to transfer to the Middle East in January.
Last summer, Liverpool rejected a record-breaking bid for the Egyptian attacker with reigning Saudi Pro League champion Al-Ittihad, offering the Reds £150 million for the 31-year-old forward.
According to the Daily Mirror, Saudi League's director of football, Michael Emenalo, believes it is unlikely Salah will be on the move although Liverpool still expects more huge offers when the window opens in January.
"We understand that Mo is happy where he is at present and in a historic, wonderful club at Liverpool. We respect that very much and we don't want to come across as putting any pressure on him.
"But if there is any interest to do something, Mo Salah is a player that you want in your league, in any league. We respect Liverpool and in this scenario.”
Salah is tied to a contract at Anfield through to 2025 after the Egyptian forward penned a new deal with the English Premier League giants last summer.
What’s next for Mo Salah?
Meanwhile, GOAL claims there is seemingly little left for two-time PFA Player of the Year Mohamed Salah to achieve in English football after accomplishing almost all feats with Liverpool.
The Egyptian forward has reached the 200-goal mark at the Reds, having previously helped them to Premier League, Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup and Carabao Cup honours.
Transfer experts expect Salah could reconsider staying at Liverpool beyond this summer as the club is gradually phasing out their older attackers with Roberto Firminho and Sadio Mane already out of the club.
