- Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante led Al-Ittihad to victory in the first round on Tuesday night
Al Ahly midfielder, Mahmoud Kahraba is unfazed by the big names in the Al-Ittihad team ahead of their Club World Cup clash in Saudi Arabia on Friday night.
The Egyptian midfielder returns to the Asian country for the first time since 2018 to face his former club at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.
Kahraba is expected to play a huge role if the African champions are to advance in the competition.
According to the 29-year-old, returning to Saudi Arabia is enough motivation for him, and Al Ahly will not be intimidated by the likes of Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante and Fabinho.
“I think it’s an incredible coincidence that I get to play against my former team,” Kaharaba said in the press conference, as quoted by King Fut.
“I know the city very well and it’s great that I get to meet Ittihad fans once again. It will be a special moment.
“Ittihad have a number of world-class players like Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, and Fabinho but we are Al Ahly and we do not fear anyone,” he added.
Benzema and Kante were on target for Al-Ittihad as they began the tournament with an emphatic win against Auckland City, as reported by Live Score.
