With Euro 2020 starting this weekend, there are a number of top-class players who will not be available for their countries as they campaign for the continental silverware.

In view of the above, SunSport names 11 players who will miss out on this summer's championship owing to different types of setbacks.

Below are the known names who will not participate in the Euro 2020 starting Barcelona goalkeeper Ter Stegen to Sweden legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

  2. Trent Alexander-Arnold - Thigh injury (England and Liverpool)
  3. Sergio Ramos - chronic knee pain (Spain and Real Madrid)
  4. Virgil van Dijk - Knee ligament injury (Netherlands and Liverpool)
  5. Ferland Mendy - Tibial periostitis (France and Real Madrid)
  6. Sergio Busquets - COVID-19 (Spain and Barcelona)
  7. Dominik Szoboszlai - Groin injury (Hungary and RB Leipzig)
  8. Nicolo Zaniolo - cruciate ligament (Italy and AS Roma)
  9. Mason Greenwood - Underlying injury (England and Manchester United)
  10. Ansu Fati - Knee injury (Spain and Barcelona)
  11. Zlatan Ibrahimovic - Knee injury (Sweden and AC Milan)

Meanwhile, Turkey and Italy will get the games underway on Friday at the Stadio Olimpico while three games - Wales vs Switzerland, Denmark vs Finland, and Belgium vs Russia will be played on Saturday, June 12.
