FootballManchester United Eyes Swoop for VFB Stuttgart’s Serhou Guirassy As Solution to Goal Problem: Report
- Serhou Guirassy has been on red-hot form since the start of the season
- The Guinean forward has taken the Bundesliga scenes by storm
- Reports of a transfer interest from Manchester United have emerged
Manchester United are in dire need of a reliable striker to spearhead their attack through the 2023-24 season.
Despite the array of attacking talents acquired by Erik ten Hag's team in recent seasons, the club has struggled to score goals, especially in the Premier League.
Highly touted forward Rasmus Hojlund, who joined the Premier League outfit for a hefty fee in the region of ₤70 million in the summer, has failed to make an immediate impact, with all of his five goals for the club coming in the UEFA Champions League.
As the search for reliability in front of goal continues, a plethora of names have continued to be linked with the club; however, one name that stands out is that of talented Guinean striker Serhou Guirassy.
Man United to sign Guirassy
Reports from Sky Sports German transfer correspondent Florian Plettenberg have stated that the Stuttgart striker, who is enjoying a brilliant start to the 2023-24 Bundesliga campaign, has attracted serious interest from the hierarchy at Old Trafford.
The 27-year-old has undoubtedly been one of Europe’s best strikers this campaign and, according to data courtesy of Whoscored, has found the back of the net 18 times in addition to two assists since the start of the season for Stuttgart.
It is understood that Guirassy has a release clause in the region of €17.5mil, which could be activated in January.
The likelihood of a transfer to Manchester United gains further credibility, given reports by German journalist Christian Falk, highlighting the player's refusal to extend his contract with the Bundesliga club.
Although there has been no official approach for the remarkable forward yet, it must be emphasised that Guirassy's addition to the current Manchester United squad appears to be an ideal fit for both parties.
