Julen Lopetegui has reportedly emerged as the favourite to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.
Ten Hag is facing increasing pressure at Old Trafford following the Red Devils' frustrating run so far this season.
United have already lost seven of the 16 Premier League games they have played, with the highlight of their struggles this term coming on Tuesday night.
Ten Hag's charges suffered a 1-0 defeat against Bayern Munich at the Theatre of Dreams to bow out of the Champions League in the group stages.
According to Sky Sports, Kingsley Coman's second-half goal was the only difference in the tie.
United's defeat in the encounter meant that the Premier League giants could only manage one win in six of the matches they played in a group consisting of Galatasaray and FC Copenhagen.
Lopetegui favourite to replace Ten Hag
With Ten Hag under fire to quit, reports claim Lopetegui has emerged as the favourite to replace the Dutchman.
According to Sportbible, citing sources in Spain, Lopetegui is ahead of Zinedine Zidane on United's potential list of replacements.
The Spaniard is currently unemployed after quitting his role at Wolves.
Zidane is equally not attached anywhere at the moment, months after he left Real Madrid.
The Frenchman was previously linked with the France national team job but failed to land the role.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils will be back in action on Sunday, December 17, when they will play rivals Liverpool in the Premier League at Anfield.
