Liverpool had it much harder
Jurgen Klopp’s men also achieved a clean sweep in the group stage but had much tougher opposition. The Reds had to get past Atletico Madrid, FC Porto, and AC Milan.
As noted by This is Anfield, they became the first English side to win all of their group games in the Champions League.
Liverpool continued their winning ways as they went all the way to the final during that tournament. They were sadly beaten by Real Madrid in the final, thanks to a solitary goal by Vinicius Junior, ESPN reported.
