  • Barcelona's Vitor Roque has tied the knot with his long-time partner
  • The forward is set to join the Catalans in the winter transfer window
  • The Brazilian is expected to boost the attack of Xavi Hernandez’s side

Barcelona forward, Vitor Roque has announced that he officially tied the knot with his partner, Dayana Lins in a ceremony in his home country of Brazil.

The forward, who is billed to join the La Liga powerhouse in the winter window, took to social media to share photos from the modest courtroom ceremony.

The announcement on Roque's Instagram drew a flood of congratulatory messages, with many acknowledging his achievements at such a young age.

The teenage sensation, who lit up the scenes in the Brazilian Serie A with Athletico Paranaense, attracted a staggering ₤40 million fee for his signature.

The 18-year-old is expected to cover largely for misfiring Robert Lewandowski and offer manager, Xavi Hernandez more attacking alternatives to work with.

Barcelona keenly anticipate Roque

Roque is tipped to be the next big thing alongside Real Madrid’s Endrick Felipe from the Brazilian league and it is little wonder that Barcelona, despite their ailing finances, went all out for his signature.

However, while the excitement builds around the forward's arrival at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, Barca fans will need to be patient as he is currently recovering from an ankle injury that sidelined him for the final quarter of the 2023 Brazil Serie A season, per a report by Football Espana.

Nonetheless, fans of the Catalan club have reasons to be optimistic about Roque's arrival, considering his noteworthy contributions despite his injury-affected season. According to Whoscored, he found the back of the net 11 times and provided three assists in 22 appearances for Athletico Paranaense.

As fans eagerly await his debut, Roque will aspire to follow in the footsteps of legendary Brazilians like Rivaldo Ferreira and Romario Faria, leaving an indelible mark on Barcelona's rich history.

Xavi sets unwanted record with Girona defeat

Sports Brief also previously reported on Barcelona’s Xavi setting an unwanted record as the manager of the Catalan club following their La Liga loss to Girona.

The loss condemned the 43-year-old to a horrible win percentage, worse than that of Quique Setien and only bettered by the shambolic tenure of Ronald Koeman.
