Former coach of Ghana's Black Stars, Charles Kwablan Akonnor has disclosed that he will not interfere in his son's international future following his success with the U17 team of Germany.

Charles Herrmann played a pivotal role as the Germany U17 team won the FIFA World Cup in Indonesia last month.

Born in Germany, Herrmann, who plays for Borussia Dortmund, has the option of playing for the European country or Ghana.

"At their age, we are not keen on these under-17 commitments, and who will pay for a ticket for somebody to come to Africa to play for under-17? Another thing too is that maybe they should look at the talent in Ghana and use them," Akonnor told Graphic Sports, as quoted by Pulse.

The young Akonnor will be hoping to steadily progress through the German national teams.

However, the doors of the Ghana national team remain open for the winger, who is back in Germany with the Borussia Dortmund side.

Herrmann added the World Cup trophy to the Euro title won earlier this year, as reported by Bundesliga.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that the Son of former Ghana captain and coach, Charles Kwablan Akonnor, Charles Kwablan Herrmann has won the FIFA U17 World Cup with Germany.

Kwablan Herrmann played a pivotal role as the Europeans strolled to another championship success after beating France in the final on penalties.

Although the 17-year-old was an unused substitute in the final against Les Bleuets, Kwablan Herrmann made five appearances, scoring a goal and providing two assists.

Germany beat France to win FIFA U17 World Cup

Sports Brief also reported that ten-man Germany beat France on penalties to win the Under-17 World Cup football final in Indonesia on Saturday, becoming the first team to win the world and European age titles in the same year.

The match went to extra time when the teams were unable to break a 2-2 deadlock in humid conditions in Surakarta on Java island.

The young Germans then held their nerve in the penalty shootout to beat the Blues and win their first Under-17 world title in a rematch of this year's European Championship final, which they also won on penalties.
