Mohamed Salah has come under heavy scrutiny for dramatically falling to the ground in a bid to win a penalty during Liverpool's 4-1 defeat to Manchester City.
The 28-year-old forward confidently converted the opportunity and restore parity for the hosts in the 63rd minute after Ilkay Gundogan had given City the lead earlier in the second half.
Although the Egyptian's goal was not enough to rescue the Reds from their third straight defeat after Gundogan grabbed another goal while Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling also scored.

Definitely, there was contact between the two players when Salah was making a run towards a potential goal, it wasn't just enough for him to have aimed for a penalty according to the fans.
Sport Bible reports that supporters were divided across social media platforms with many pointing out that, by the letter of the law, it was clearly a penalty - while others claimed Salah's actions were against the spirit of the game.
Meanwhile, two schoolboy errors from Alisson Becker also played a part in Liverpool suffering their third straight defeat on home turf after Burnley and Brighton and Hove Albion.

The victory was, however, the Citizens' first victory at Anfield since 2003.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Manchester City star Ruben Dias sparked up reactions among the club fans after pulling Alexander Zinchenko by his neck in a bid to form a wall during their 4-1 triumph over Liverpool.
The 23-year-old centre-back while trying to arrange his teammates to defend the Reds' free-kick at the edge of his side's 18-yard box felt his colleague was not being urgent enough.
Pep Guardiola's men built a five-man wall with Zinchenko lying on the ground behind it but Dias decided to position the Ukrainian himself with a surprisingly brutal yank of the neck.
