  • Barcelona lost their La Liga clash against city rivals Girona
  • The Catalan giants were largely outplayed by the minnows
  • Fans have trolled Xavi following the report of his reaction to the defeat

Barcelona went through all the emotions during their loss in the La Liga clash against Girona.

The initial thrill of displaying a strong fighting spirit was quickly overshadowed by the despair of conceding a goal, largely attributed to a self-inflicted error.

Despite the sheer joy of a quick equaliser, La Blaugrana ultimately watched the game slip away in disappointment.

Amid the varied reactions and the prevailing gloom after this intense defeat, a report has surfaced detailing how coach Xavi Hernandez navigated through the tumultuous clash.

According to Barca Universal, the underfire 43-year-old manager expressed visible displeasure, particularly evident during halftime when he passionately addressed his players.

Xavi reportedly berated the team for their lacklustre performance, emphasising that such a display would cost them the league title.

The report also noted that the former midfielder demanded increased intensity from the players and vented his frustration by emphatically punching the tactical whiteboard multiple times.

Despite the coach's dramatic efforts, the team was eventually defeated by Michel Sanchez’s side, prompting fans to swiftly criticise the manager. Many pointed out that Xavi's tactical adjustments seemed unnecessary and may have contributed to squandering what could have been a victory for the Catalan club.

Fans’ reaction to Xavi's theatrics

@soberkiddmusic, unimpressed with Xavi's actions, remarked:

“Weak manager behaviours.”

@tuoyotosan11, seemingly fed up, suggested:

“This team should lose more, so they'll sack him and Lewandowski both.”

@jadon_d_val, expressing displeasure, commented:

“And yet nothing changed in the second half.”

@Hlomla_N, a trolling fan, stated:

“All for nothing because it didn't work.”

While Xavi's words and actions may have been in vain during the Girona clash, however, many are now anticipating a strong response in the upcoming UEFA Champions League tie against Royal Antwerp.

Xavi sets unwanted record with Girona defeat

Sports Brief in a previous report highlighted Barcelona’s Xavi Hernadez has set an unwanted record for the club following the defeat against Girona.

The defeat against the Catalan club condemned the 43-year-old to a horrible win percentage, which is worse than that of former coach Quique Setien and only bettered by the shambolic tenure of Dutch manager Ronald Koeman.
