Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 50th goal of 2023 when Al-Nassr thrashed Al-Shabab 5-2 in the semi-finals of the Saudi King Cup.

Many doubted his transfer to Saudi Arabia earlier this year, but it proved to be a masterstroke. He scored plenty of goals and helped the nation's football grow significantly.

Moreover, Ronaldo paved the way for more footballers from top European clubs, like Neymar Junior, Sadio Mane, and Riyad Mahrez to join Saudi Pro League clubs this year.

He has scored 40 goals for Al-Nassr in 2023 and 10 goals for Portugal, per Transfermarkt. The ex-Juventus star has three games left in 2023, so he could add to that tally before the year comes to a close.

Ronaldo reacts to his goal milestone

Speaking after the game, Ronaldo put out an Instagram post to celebrate scoring his 50th goal of 2023.

"Great victory and I’m thrilled to announce my 50th goal in 2023, all thanks to the unwavering support of my teammates, fans, and my family! 🔥 There’s still room for a few more this year."

He added some pics of his goals in the post, which got nearly four million likes and 60 thousand comments.

The veteran forward won his first title with Al-Nassr in August. He scored a brace as they beat bitter rivals, Al-Hilal in the first-ever Arab Club Champions Cup.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has now scored at least 50 goals in a calendar year eight times in his career.

Ronaldo speaks in Arabic

Sports Brief also recently reported on Ronaldo speaking Arabic among the fans after Al-Nassr defeated Al-Shabab.

As Al-Nassr players were celebrating their impressive win in the King Cup, he was spotted saying something in Arabic.

In a video posted on X, the 38-year-old was said to have remarked: "Yalla Yalla", which means 'hurry up' or 'come on'.
