The 2023/24 Premier League title race is slowly taking shape ahead of the second half of the campaign.

Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal have emerged as the early favourites to challenge for the crown at the end of the season.

Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are the dark horses in the race, with the former registering positive results in recent weeks.

Liverpool are currently topping the charts with 37 points after 16 rounds of matches.

The Reds took leadership over the weekend following their 2-1 epic win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Sky Sports reports that Mohamed Salah and Harvey Elliot helped the visitors stage a comeback to see off the Eagles after Jean-Philippe Mateta's 57th opener from the spot.

Arsenal are placed second with 36 points, having missed out on a glorious chance to return to the top following their 1-0 defeat against Aston Villa.

Elsewhere, The Mirror reports Villa are placed third with 35 points, two points ahead of fourth-placed Man City.

Sports Brief now takes a look at how Arsenal, City, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Villa's next six matches compare.

Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp's men are scheduled to play rivals Manchester United in their next EPL fixture set for Sunday, December 17, at Anfield.

Next up will be another home match against Arsenal on Christmas Eve, before facing Burnley away at Turf Moor on Boxing Day.

They will then host Newcastle United on January 1 before playing Bournemouth and Chelsea.

Arsenal

On their part, Arsenal will be looking to bounce back to winning ways against Brighton in their next EPL fixture on Saturday, December 16, before facing the Reds a week later.

A London derby against West Ham United will then follow before another one against away at Fulham at the end of the year.

The Gunners' first EPL match of the new year will be against Crystal Palace at home before facing Nottingham Forest at the end of January.

Aston Villa

Aston Villa will be keen to build on their current moment against Brentford on Sunday, December 17, before hosting relegation battlers Sheffield United a week later.

They will face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Boxing Day before hosting Burnley at Villa Park at the end of the year.

Their next two fixtures after then will be against Newcastle at home and away at Bramall Lane to play the Blades.

Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs' next EPL match will be against Nottingham Forest before fixtures against Everton at home and Brighton away following.

They will then play Bournemouth at the end of the year before marking 2024 with a trip to Old Trafford on January 14.

The north Londoners will be back at home at the end of January 2024 with a clash against Burnley.

Man City

The reigning champions are scheduled to play Crystal Palace in their next league outing on Saturday, December 16.

They will then face Everton away after Boxing Day before hosting Sheffield United at home at the end of the year.

A trip to Newcastle will follow on January 13 as they prepare to host Burnley at home at the of the month.

Their sixth fixture will be against Brentford away on February 3.
