Pyramids FC manager Jamie Pacheco has reacted to his team's goalless draw against South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League on Sunday.
The Brazilians were tipped as the favourites to win the Group A tie at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium, in what eventually ended up being an entertaining clash.
The Egyptian side made a good impression of themselves in South Africa and could have sealed all three points if they had taken their chances.
After the tie, the Portuguese manager rued his team's missed chances to win the game and claimed he was not happy with the result, according to a report by iDiskiTimes.
"If you asked me before the match if I would have liked to draw against Mamelodi Sundowns, I would accept that, but after being in the game, witnessing the players doing everything in the proper way, mounting the tactics that I asked them to do, they were outstanding, doing everything right," he said.
Pacheco also claimed that they understood how to play against the South African champions and how they set up their game plan.
“It is just that we understood how to play [against] Mamelodi Sundowns, they are a big team, they have a lot of answers, they have a lot of alternatives they can play with, but we did well," he added.
Pyramids FC will host the Brazilians in the second leg of the encounter at the 30 June Stadium on Tuesday, December 19.
